The 40th edition runs for two and a half weeks, with nine short film competitions including the £500 music video prize.
The 40th Leeds International Film Festival runs from 29 October to 15 November 2026. Entries closed on 30 July and submitters were notified on 17 September.
There are nine short film competitions with £8,000 in total prizes, including a dedicated £500 music video competition. The festival is Oscar-qualifying for live action and animated shorts, and BAFTA and BIFA qualifying for British shorts.
